Hill's Great Rover Road Run takes place April 6

The LSU School of Veterinary Medicine’s Wellness Committee and Hill’s Pet Nutrition host the Hill’s Great Rover Road Run (#HillsGRRR2025), an annual 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk that promotes health and wellness for people and their four-legged friends all while raising money for the LSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital's Good Samaritan Fund. This is a fun and exciting event for all involved. Your pets can participate in the race too! All race registrations, proceeds and donations benefit the Good Samaritan Fund, which helps homeless animals in need of medical care. Learn more

Please note that MS and PhD candidates do not need to have a research interest in veterinary medicine and research does not need to benefit animals. LSU Vet Med is a biomedical research institution as well as a veterinary school. Our researchers' investigations cover a wide range of disciplines, including cancer biology, disease processes, cardiovascular disease, infectious and parasitic diseases, neurosciences, toxicology, bacteriology, and more.

Start of Great Rover Road Run

LSU Vet Med hosts Great Rover Road Run on April 6

On April 6, 2025, the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine’s Wellness Committee and Hill’s Pet Nutrition will host the Hill’s Great Rover Road Run, an annual 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk. The 5K race begins at 8 a.m. and the one-mile fun run/walk begins at the conclusion of the 5K at approximately 9:30 a.m. Both race courses begin on the levee at the corner of Skip Bertman and River Road in Baton Rouge near the veterinary school, and both courses will use the track on the levee.
