Deanna Gresham
Administrative & Security Operations Coordinator
I love that I can offer a support system to the students, faculty, and staff. I love being in an environment where the only constant is that no 2 days will be the same and there is a constant learning opportunity.
"Living on campus as a college student and having random roommate and suitemate assignments taught me that friendships created in a different environment have a long-lasting effect. I learned that everyone is uniquely different, and it is absolutely okay to be yourself." -Deanna
Little did you know
I grew up living inside the gates of Louisiana State Penitentiary. Just like a military base, they have housing for the employees. One of my aunts (Peggy Gresham) was the first female warden at Angola and another aunt (Nadine Tanner) was the founding director of the Angola Museum. Both women were instrumental in helping me believe in myself and what I could become.
A piece of advice
Pick your battles wisely. Do not make idle threats and always be prepared to follow thru if you give an ultimation.
A piece of advice for first-year students
Perfection is abstract. What is perfect to one may not be perfect to another. Embrace and enjoy your time as a college student because it goes by faster than you think.
