Dr. Eliana Pizarro earned her doctorate in Psychology with a specialization in Behavior Analysis from the University of Florida under the mentorship of Dr. Tim Vollmer and her master’s degree in Applied Behavioral Sciences from the University of Maryland Baltimore County under the mentorship of Dr. John Borrero. She has provided behavior-analytic services to individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders and their families in various settings (e.g., clinics, schools, hospital programs) and has held a variety of clinical leadership positions since she initially became a board-certified behavior analyst in 2014. Dr. Pizarro specializes in the assessment of severe challenging behavior and function-based interventions to promote adaptive behavior; these are the foci of her current clinical research. She is passionate about mentoring students and strives to provide a training environment that embraces a framework of compassionate care and cultural humility. Dr. Pizarro regularly publishes peer-reviewed journal articles and serves as a reviewer for behavior-analytic journals.
