Research
The research project in our group supported by CIMM investigates laser heating and melting dynamicsinmetalalloyand semiconductor surfacesand nanomaterials. We have constructed a new ultrafast laser setup that uses femtosecond laser pulses for pump-probe reflectivity and time-resolved microscopy measurements for studying fundamental wavelength-dependent and power-dependent solid-to-liquid phase transitions in selective laser melting. In addition to crystalline and polycrystalline surfaces, we are also preparing metal alloy nanoparticles deposited on substrates for future laser melting dynamics experiments.
