Internal Grants

The College of Human Sciences & Education invests in the ideas, research, and professional growth of its community. Through a range of internal funding programs, the college supports faculty scholarship, conference engagement, global learning experiences, and graduate student development.

Faculty Research Grants

The Faculty Research Grant Program provides competitive funding for university/IRB-approved research projects. These awards are designed to strengthen proposals for external funding by supporting pilot data collection, project development, or new initiatives that enhance the college’s research portfolio. Applicants should clearly articulate how the requested funds will position their work for submission to external agencies and increase competitiveness for future awards.

Faculty Travel Grants

Faculty Travel Grants assist with expenses related to presenting research at professional conferences. These funds are intended to supplement existing support from schools, indirect cost recovery, sponsored projects, or other travel programs. Applicants must document efforts to secure and exhaust available funding sources before requesting college support.

Global Study Abroad Program

The Global Study Abroad Program provides stipends to undergraduate and graduate students majoring in CHSE disciplines who participate in LSU study abroad programs led by CHSE faculty. Funding supports approved travel-related expenses for students who:

  • Are enrolled in a CHSE major

  • Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA

  • Participate in an LSU study abroad program offered by the CHSE faculty

Graduate Assistant Travel Grants

Additional travel funding is available to support graduate assistants who are presenting scholarly work at professional meetings, advancing their academic and professional development.

Together, these programs reflect CHSE’s commitment to advancing research excellence, expanding global engagement, and supporting the scholarly contributions of faculty and students at every stage.
